Terminology Tuesday: Window Types!

This week, we’re highlighting window types that bring both function and character to architectural designs.

• Egress Window: Designed for emergency exits, Required in certain rooms by building codes, they serve both safety and functional needs.
• Dormer Window: A window that projects vertically from a sloped roof, often adding light and headroom to attic spaces.
• Awning Window: This window opens outward from the bottom, providing ventilation even in light rain. Its design is practical for allowing airflow.
• Bay Window: A combination of windows projecting outward from the main wall, creating a cozy alcove inside and adding dimension to the building’s exterior. Bay windows are often used to capture scenic views and natural light.

Stay tuned next week as we explore even more architectural elements!
