Throughout 2016, Kluger Architects has been commissioned to work on the schematic master planning phase for the renovation and enhancements of St. Rita’s Catholic Parish, located in Sierra Madre. Our goal is to review existing conditions of the site and program to provide a preliminary layout based upon the needs that were assessed during our investigation. One singular element is to amalgamate two school buildings separated by a street into one educational campus. The preliminary design incorporates the Parish’s desire to complement the neighborhood’s craftsman style residences. The existing church building has already received new finishes that include new flooring, paint, and pews. Kluger Architects design intent was to keep the building as original as possible. The existing school also received new flooring, paint and new disabled accessible restrooms were added the exterior of the building to help meet the demands of the parishioners.
