In April, Kluger Architects had the honor of attending the Grand Opening Mass of Guardian Angel Church in Pacoima, CA. Throughout the day, over 1,500 people gathered for a long-awaited dedication mass, marking the opening of their new Church.

More than 30 priests from the LA Archdiocese joined in the celebration, along with groups of congregants from the surrounding area. Both the current archbishop, José H. Gomez, and former archbishop emeritus, Cardinal Roger Mahony, blessed the new space.

As the principal of Kluger Architects, Charles Kluger, AIA had the honor of addressing the crowd over the microphone. In his speech, he presented the archbishop with the Church’s floor plans, which would be carefully sealed and vaulted as part of the dedication ceremony. Chris Hoffman, the general contractor, was also present to hand over the keys to the archbishop, who in turn gave the keys to Fr. Luis Estrada, the pastor of the new Church.

Kluger Architects was honored to have helped bring the vision to life after inheriting the project in 2021, after the original architect, JP Darling, passed away. We are extremely grateful to have played such an important role in creating a sacred space for the community to gather, worship, and grow together.
